Terms of service

These terms apply when you buy from this website. By placing an order you accept them, so it is worth reading them once.

This shop is operated by Ocean van den Hoek, a company registered in the Netherlands at Granaatstraat 42, 1074 HN Amsterdam, the Netherlands, company registration number 42017275 and VAT number NL004163859B31. Where these terms say "we" or "us", that is who you are contracting with. Where they say "you", that is the person placing the order.

An order is an offer to buy. The contract between us comes into existence when we send you an email confirming that your order has been dispatched, not when you place it and not when payment is taken. If we cannot fulfil an order — because an item is unavailable, because the price shown was wrong, or because we cannot deliver to your address — we will tell you and refund you in full. We do not have to give a reason for declining an order, but we will always give you one.

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. Delivery is charged separately and is shown before you pay. We take reasonable care to price correctly; if an obvious error appears we will contact you before dispatch and you may confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.

Product descriptions, measurements and photographs are given in good faith and as accurately as we can. Insole lengths are given in centimetres per size and are measured flat. Colours vary between screens. Where we do not know a material composition, we describe the construction instead of guessing at a figure.

Your rights to cancel, return and be refunded are set out in our refund policy, which forms part of these terms. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any breach of your statutory rights as a consumer.

All content on this site — text, photographs, logos and design — belongs to us or to our licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.

These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. This does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you live: if you are resident in the United Kingdom, your rights under UK consumer law continue to apply in full, and you may bring proceedings in the UK courts.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. We may update these terms; the version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it.
